This policy only refers to generative AI although from this point on will just call it AI, none generative AI or machine learning is an integral part of everything ever used by everyone and I really hate they have the same name. (Although i do have things to say about the use of data in machine learning this isn't the place)
This Isn't a legal policy and is instead a frank summary of the way Studio Stochastic tries goes about the development of its products and apps day to day. Hence it as not as exhausative as some of the other policies on the website.
In this modern day and age the use of AI has become prevelent in the world with Chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude being incredibaly common for writing (cheating) essays and various image/video altering apps threatening people privacy and autonomy. Here at Studio Stochastic I limit my use of Generative AI only to agentic coding and even then only to projects or parts of projects that I consider to be non experiences (ALTHOUGH IM STRUGGLING CAUSE GOOGLE KEEPS ADDING AI OVERVIEWS TO EVERYTHING). An example of what I'd consider to be a none experience for example is the backend image detection of my automated futsal statistics where I used agentic coding to wire in my image detection model (I did check it myself tho) and an example of an experience would be the voice lines in my pub compass app where they were all recorded by me.Â
I also consider the coding of certain projects to be an experiance no matter what part of the app it is. For example, video games are experiences (and quite frankly an art form) and if Studio Stochastic were ever to make a video game I'd be staunch on not using any sort of AI in its creation even if it is limited to agentic coding.
What this looks like for me is lots of Canva work (I'm aware they've started using AI elements mixed in with their human drawn elements if anyone sees any ai assets on my logos and stuff I made in Canva let me know and I'll fix it and not drink water for an hour to make up for it.) Writing stuff like this by myself & overall having 5 times the ammount of spelling errors in my apps then nesecery.
Additionally when agentic coding is used I use either free or open source models (check out Opencode they are great) so I dont spend any money on the current evil that is Anthropic and OpenAI. With a potential hardware update coming soon alowing me to run local models on my computer so I move myself and my projects ever further away from the churning machine of slop that is the AI bubble. I am aware this is bassically the ecquivelent of being a vegeterian besides when its given to you for free.
The only good news is that after AI fails, the data centers left should be enough to push Medical Research and other machine learning stuff that benefits society into a new frontier at a relitevly cheap cost as they'd have way too much compute power.
